I know it, you know it, your children know it: happy kids learn best. While that sounds simple in theory, if you’ve ever hosted a birthday party then you know it can be quite difficult to keep a large, diverse population of children engaged for a long period of time. And yet at CHA we succeed, year after year after year.
How do we do it?
- International Baccalaureate (IB)—We teach using the research-based, time-tested methods of the IB program, which means we teach children in the ways they learn best.
- Tribes Learning Community—We interact with one another based on the agreements of Tribes, meaning each individual is respected and accepted as an important member of our community.
- We have fun. We get messy. We think, we act, we do.
I am proud to say that CHA is the only school in the San Fernando Valley that has been accepted as an IB World School for primary and middle school by the IB Organization.
The IB program is a research-based, dynamic program influenced by schools from around the world. IB schools emphasize thinking and doing over memorizing, causing students to open their minds and become active, lifelong learners with an international perspective.
While the IB program guides our program of instruction, the Tribes program guides our daily interactions. As a Tribes Learning Community, CHA provides an inclusive approach to education that creates a positive enviornment and forms a solid foundation for student-teacher and student-student interactions.
I invite you to come visit us. Meet our happy kids and see for yourselves how CHA’s parents, faculty and students join together to create an exceptional education experience for the 21st century. We look forward to welcoming you.
