Chatsworth Hills Academy participates in a full range of interscholastic athletics as a member of the San Fernando Valley Private School League. Beginning in fourth grade, boys’ teams include Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer, and/or Volleyball during the school year. Girls compete in Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball. Students are encouraged to participate and are welcomed on teams regardless of their skill level.
Over the past several years, many CHA school teams have done well in play-offs and have won league championships. Team practices take place during school hours and after school. Games are played both home and away.
Playing on teams at CHA is more than just winning. Our commitment to character development and core values is emphasized through athletics as students learn teamwork, sportsmanship, work ethic, and how to be gracious while winning or losing.
Chatsworth Hills Academy Athletic Department Philosophy:
Participation – every athlete that comes to practice should and will have an opportunity to play, regardless of skill level, each regular season game.
Sportsmanship – the main priorities are fair play and a good attitude toward opponents, referees, fans, and fellow teammates. Parents and Coaches are asked to be role models for the Golden Eagles student-athletes.
Fundamentals – the basic fundamental sports skills are emphasized each practice and game. The goal is for each student athlete to achieve measurable improvement from beginning to end.
Competition – Winning is great but it should not be the measure of success for the athletic program or the student athlete. Healthy competition will be encouraged with an emphasis on each athlete playing to the best of his/her ability. Whether winning or losing, playing with honor and integrity is of utmost importance.
