CHA is now officially an International Baccalaureate World School. This is a major step forward for our school because the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) are curriculum frameworks that put our students’ learning into the context of the global society that they are going to be a part of in their adult lives. It provides our students with authentic learning experiences relevant to the “real” world through transdisciplinary instruction in which learning is not confined within the boundaries of traditional subject areas, but rather is supported and enriched by them. These programs engage our students in ways that are developmentally appropriate and expose them to best current educational practices from around the World. IB students are highly sought after by top universities both in the U.S. and worldwide because of their critical thinking ability, strength as researchers, and effective communication skills.
The aim of this program is to create internationally minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, helping to create a better more peaceful world. It aims to achieve this by creating people who exhibit the attributes of the Learner profile below.
