Living the Dream…
As a child, Pam loved being surrounded by younger children. By grade 4, she was sure that she wanted to be a teacher. With her future goal in mind, she attended Illinois State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science Degree in Education and a Minor in Mathematics Education. Permanent full-time jobs were not readily available in Illinois, so with a young risk-taker’s spirit, she moved to California to pursue her dream.
After earning her California Teaching Credential at Cal State Dominguez Hills, she taught 3rd grade for LAUSD in South Central Los Angeles for seven years. She worked with inspirational role models throughout her time at Normandie Avenue School, leaving only when she moved to the valley.
Pam began working at Chatsworth Hills Academy in January of 1997. She has worked with various grades and subject areas during her 20+ years at CHA. She loves teaching 5th grade, and she enjoys implementing the IB program. Her students can often be found actively participating in an exciting, integrated project that they bring to life, collaborating and sharing their understanding with one another.
Pam is also very passionate about student leadership within the school setting. She enjoyed supervising the Middle School Student Council for a decade. In 2015, the Lower School Student Council was established, and she is thrilled to work with the younger leaders now.
